Slovenian National Contact Point was established in 2008 in accordance with Council Decision 2008/381/EC. Government of the Republic of Slovenia appointed Ministry of the Interior as legal subject of National Contact Point. In the context of implementing EMN mandate, Slovenian National Contact Point provides national contributions on Slovenia’s migration and asylum situation. National contributions are used in preparation of EMN EU publications (e.g. Ad Hoc Queries and Annual Report on Migiration and Asylum) or serve as individual outputs (e.g. National Studies).

Since 2008, composition of Slovenian National Contact Point changed because of development of EMN requirements and activities.

Members of the Slovenian National Contact Point are: Experts from Ministry of the Interior and Police, Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Members of National Contact Point and EMN Steering Board are appointed by Government of the Republic of Slovenia on proposal of competent Ministry.
