This inform is focusing on specific areas in the context of asylum, migration and acquisition of citizenship procedures and border control management where digital technologies may be used. The inform draws on contributions from the OECD and 24 EU Member States that have or plan to enhance the deployment of digital services due to the increased use of digital technology in recent years and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The publication provides an overview of the potential for digital technologies to support areas of migration management, citizenship acquisition, asylum procedures and border controls, taking into account the implications for fundamental rights, including data protection.
