Decision of European Council and Parliament on the establishment of European Migration Network (2008/381/ES) provides to Member States to define a subject working as the National Contact Point which must have relevant expertise on migration and asylum comprising integral aspects of the problem such as policy making, law, research, statistics and information technology.
Slovenian National Contact Point is composed of ten experts from different ministries responsible for migration, such as the Ministry of Interior and the Police, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affair and Equal Opportunities. The subject responsible for Slovenian NCP operations is Ministry of Interior which cooperates within EMN under Decision of European Council and Parliament on the establishment of European Migration Network (2008/381/ES). Base on EMN Multiannual Working Program Slovenian NCP cooperates with other NCPs in preparing national surveys, studies, analyses, individual statistics, information leaflets, etc.
