The EMN Synthesis Report “Family Reunification of Third Country nationals in the EU and Norway: National Practices” presents the main findings which were provided by the EMN national contact points through their national reports. The main aims of the EMN – Study were compared national policies and/ or practices on family reunification between the different (Member) States, and provided up-to-date information on recent developments in this field (i.e. since 2011 onwards). The EMN – Study further aims to provide comparable data on the scale of family reunification in the EU plus Norway at present, as well as over time (2011-2015), supplementing it with national statistics where available.

EMN – Synthesis Report was prepared on the basis of National Contributions from 26 EMN NCPs (also EMN – Slovenian National Contact Point). National Contributions/ Reports were made by the common specification, which was predeveloped by the respective EMN working group. National Reports largely based on desk analysis of existing legislation and policy documents, reports, academic literature, internet resources, reports and information from national authorities and interviews with national stakeholders. Statistics were sourced from Eurostat, national authorities and other (national) databases.

The Slovenian national report was made together with the Legal-Information Centre for NGOs (PIC) and EMN- Slovenian National Contact Point, Ministry of the Interior Republic of Slovenia.
