The EMN Glossary was developed with the aim of improving common understanding in the European Union through the consistent use of terms and definitions relating to migration and asylum. Primary sources for terms presented in EMN glossary is EU acquis on migration and asylum.

The Glossary contains definition and source for every term that is presented. All terms are translated in all official languages of the EU and Norway, except Denmark.  

First version of EMN glossary was published in 2010, while first printed version was presented in 2012. The latest revised version (7.0) was published in July 2020 and contains almost 500 terms. Online interactive version of the latest EMN Glossary can be accessed on the European Commission’s EMN website.
